Every artist in Medicine Hat has photographed, drawn, painted, or sculpted this Medicine Hat landmark. St. Patrick’s Church, commonly referred to as Saint Pat’s, was built in the early 1900s. It is truly a fascinating piece of architecture that rises above the surrounding terrain.
I photographed this a few years ago on a beautiful fall day. The vantage point was from the top of Crescent Heights Hill, close to McCoy High School. A Photoshop filter was applied called Lucis Art. I use many different filters in Photoshop, but this is by far my favorite. I like how it makes the photograph look like a painting, particularly an Andrew Wyeth painting.
